Prop Balancers

What balancer do you guys like/use?
I was reading on the Master Airscrew website about their balancer that addresses both spanwise and chordwise balance.  Any body ever use that system or have any opinions on it?

I never did get that serious with this stuff, more along the lines of some cheap dubro balancer that camw with a bunch of little plastic dowles and straight pins. Worked good enough most times.

I suppose if you were balancing props for screeming high rpm engines then one of the new balancers is the way to go. I dunno. Some of the balancers out there start at $40 or more. A bit steep for my blood, especially when balancing a $4.00 wood prop.

       The best prop balancer I have ever used is the TOP FLITE precision magnetic
unit. I think they cost about $25.00

Alan,

I PM'd you about mine, but a look in the Tower catalog shows the DuBro Tru Spin balancer is very similar.

Take your time, work carefully, clean crumbs before re-weighing. Done right a balanced prop will please you with lowered vibration, which allows the engine to deliver more power, etc., etc.
