Title: Profile Stuka By Dick Mathis REVISED
Post by: Mike Griffin on August 30, 2010, 12:52:33 PM

NOTE: I WILL BE USING CONTEST BALSA IN THIS MODEL

I had said in my original post I was going to eliminate the 1/2 ribs in the wing and offer the plane with a planked leading edge and cap strips.

After giving this a lot of serious thought and realizing that although it is not a classic legal plane, it will qualify for Nostalgia 30, I have decided to kit the plane as originally designed by Dick Mathis and that WILL INCLUDE the 1/2 ribs.  For those of you who like the planked leading edge, please feel free to kit bash and plank the leading edge.  I think their are merits to both ways of constructing the wing.

I had wonderful input with valid points on both sides of the issue as to whether to change the construction or not but I feel that kitting the plane as it was originally designed was the best way to go.

I have received quite a few orders based on what I had said before so I wanted everyone to know how it was going to be kitted.  Actually if you want a planked leading edge, that would not be much of a problem to do. It would be a lot more time consuming to sit down and cut a bunch of 1/2 ribs.

For those of you who are purist and wanted the original design, here is your chance to get one.

I apologize for any confusion this may have caused.

Please e mail me at profilestuka@yahoo.com with your orders or questions on short or full kits.  The prices have not changed but the short kit will of course include the 1/2 ribs as well as the full ones

Thank you and let's get some Stukas out there.
