Jamie the Forerunner is a Tom Farmer design. I built one from plans 12 years ago and put an OS LA.46 on it and it was a really good flyer.

Im being given one that had a ST.46 on it. Should be a fun upgrade from the Twister.

It is a really good flying profile. My son Steven has been flying one all summer and has been doing really well with it in beginner. He learned the beginner this summer with and I am sure by the spring it will carry him through intermediate.

Hi Jamie. I have gone through three of them and just gave away a kit of one. All mine had OS .46 LA-S engines. Great flying profile. I crashed one big time at a King Orange several years back. Engine was in 33 pieces give or take. VERY windy and I was"warming up" the judges. Talk about wind up, I lost it in the square horizontal eights. H^^
Yikes!!!
This one is don cranfills. Only has 4-5 flights. Drilled for st.46. May drill n tap pairbof aluminum pads for a .46LA if needed. But i have a Big Art ST.46 w/ big art muffler that deserves to be ran so we shall see

Does it have the engine on the "wrong side" like the original?
If so, please detail how it runs for you, if you don't mind.

No, the engine can be mounted either way, several years ago I put an R/C mount on one and had it inverted, no problem. Tom Farmer is a friend of mine and he said the reason for the inboard engine was that it kept the plug cleaner, and gave better engine runs..

That's why I put "wrong side" in quotes, instead of just writing wrong side.....

This is a photo of the Forerunner 60. Tom Farmer flew this plane for several
years at District 8 contests.
I have plans available for both the Forerunner 40 size and Forerunner 6o size
planes at: www.ultrahobbyproducts.com
