Title: Private rooms and boards
Post by: RC Storick on August 27, 2006, 06:41:32 AM
I am not really sure how to convey my thoughts on this subject. But here goes to the best of my ability.

First off Private rooms or boards on the INTERNET are not private. Someone is always watching. So if you say something be ready to stand up for it.

Second you will never see or hear me state bad things about other sites. I only respond to accusations and I do it here on the Hangar.

This site is pricey and offers no spam, pop-ups ,email lists etc.. You are behind a firewall. If you are having some kind of problem it is coming from your end. If you are surfing the web and receive a pop-up do not click on their close box, click the red X in the top right hand corner to close this box. If you click on their close box it will harvest your email address. These pop up's are usually of the pornographic nature. So be smart don't let the programmers out think you. So with this said in defense of Stunt Hangar lets get back to model airplanes.

Just to add something to what Robert stated.  Sometimes the popup does not have an X in the upper right corner.  Mouse down to the bottom toolbar and right click on the offending site.  Choose X to close it there.  f~

reach over and unplug phone cord before closing or if firewall has block all do that before closing.dont know much about these majic boxes but it seems to work.
also use mozilla fire fox.when set right --never had a pop up with mozilla.
look around in searches and find the black viper and follow his sugestions for bullet profing your system and speeding it up.
micht want to search my computer.all folders--avanced options check top three
search  for history.ie5 delete all of them
search for index.dat  delete all of them
turn off system restore and leave it off
go to run type in msconfig and then go to start up and disable all then services and disable auto update.
i run windows xp and after i quit up dating it i quit having problems i have none of the service packs
all new firewall and updates have holes for government use=---i use an old one with no up dates because of this--if gov can get through so can others

before i did the above stuff i was getting hacked and crashed every month or so.
i have not had problems for about 9 months now that i doo these things.

i do loose part of my scaner when deleting the history for some reason--the program will as for the disk and its back to normal in a few seconds of inserting disk.

any time i suspect an atack i hit the block all--wait a sec or 2 and go back to normal

dont know much about these things but it works for me!
