Today I had two copies of a plan made, 3 by 5 feet each. The price for both copies was over $60.00. I have used the same person to make copies since moving to La. They now charge $1.99/sq. ft. I used to pay about $15.00 for two copies. After consulting with the usual person I got a "this time only" price of $19.99 for both copies. So be sure to call ahead about price before using Office Depot for large copies.

I didn't know about Lettermans or Fed Ex. Back in Yankeeville there was only Staples/Office Depot.

I always use Kinkos. They are modeler friendly and cheap.

Our local Staples made 4 copies of one plan. they came out perfect in one roll. Cost? Under $8.00.

I have been dealing with a company that does drawings for builders, archetechs, and government facilities. The charges for the documents have been extremely economical. They are also very helpful. Sounds like your source doesn't want your business.

We are lucky to have a self-service copy store. I can copy a large plan for about $1.50. If I had to go to Kinkos, I wouldn't do any copying.

Here in Fresno CA, FedEx no longer wants your business. They want contractors who can pay them more money. A couple weeks ago I wanted some plans 42X60 printed. They wanted $157.00 ! I complained to the new manager. Actually all the employees were new. He told me they wanted costumers who could pay them more money like building contractors. . He finally gave me the one time price of $17.00.
Office Depot wants $1.77 per square foot . It's getting to be crazy.

8.00 is what I paid also last visit at Kinkos for plans to the FIREBOSS I started.
I need a few sets because I was going to cut the parts from templates on the plans.
They printed two sheets and got the scale incorrect. Second two sheets were perfect.
They offered the other two sheets but I'd didn't take them.
Two sheets 8 bucks. Great!
Now where did I put those sheets? n~

Staples for me as I can E-Mail the link to them and go pick them up when I get E-Mail that they are ready. Not much more than what AMA charges for plans. I too used to go to Fed-Ex until prices went thru the roof.

FedEx owns Kinkos. They could be a operated franchise. Maybe they have a little lead way on their pricing structure with in reason.
Back in the day, when. I had my plans copied by the local print shop.( but I had a 1000 plans run at a time) He would charge by the sq. foot. How ever which the printers of today don't or won't tell you. The more plans you get copied, the sq. footage price goes down. Until you hit the bottom line profit margin. When they buy their supplies they do get a discount. These clowns that charge ridiculous prices. Are out for the bucks and probably don't care if you ever come back.

Before a local print shop obtained a printer to do large prints, I went to the county surveyors office and got 3 by 6 foot prints for $7.50 each. They were spot on scale too, both directions. After the local print shop was up and running, the surveyors office told me they did not want to compete with the local shop and stopped copying for me. I go to the local print shop now and pay $10 for the same 3 x 6 foot print. Still not a bad deal. Scale is good, but not quite as good as from the surveyors office. If you have a local, or near by, surveyors office, give them a try. Might be worth it...
