Microsoft Bing AI Chat Response to Stunt run with OS FP20
« on: August 10, 2023, 11:30:09 AM »
I had a "chat" with Microsoft Bing Chat (Generative AI), which is based on ChatGPT, on how to tune the OS FP20 for stunt.    I have c&p my chat below.  Please note that each chat session is limited to 5 responses.

Please note your responses will be recorded and be used to train and refine the responses for future.  I.e. Please don't add chat content that you don't want to be public.

I:
how to get a stunt run for OS MAX FP20?

MS Bing:
Searching for: stunt run OS MAX FP20
Searching for: stunt run definition

Generating answers for you…

"A stunt run is an unusual, difficult, or dramatic physical feat that may require a special skill, performed for artistic purposes. An OS MAX FP20 is a model airplane engine that can be used for R/C or C/L planes. I’m not sure what kind of stunt run you are looking for, but a good prop size to start with for an OS .35 max-s c/l stunt is 10x6. What kind of plane are you using? 🛩️"

I:
CG Shoestring

MS Bing:
Searching for: CG Shoestring
Generating answers for you…

A CG Shoestring is a control line model airplane that has a sleek design and can reach high speeds. Depending on the size and weight of your plane, you may need a different engine or prop size for a stunt run. Have you considered using a Super Tigre G21 .46 engine with a 10x6 prop? It seems to be a popular choice for CG Shoestring planes. 🚀

I:
OS FP20 is the engine that will be used to power the shoestring for pampa stunt pattern.  What type of engine run should it be tuned for?

MS Bing:
Searching for: pampa stunt pattern
Generating answers for you…

Pampa stunt pattern is a series of flight maneuvers that are scored according to geometric perfection. It is a type of control line aerobatics that has different rules for different categories, such as Old Time Stunt (OTS) or Classic Stunt. To tune your engine for a pampa stunt run, you need to consider the speed, sound, and reliability of your engine. You want to achieve a smooth and consistent run that matches the pace of your maneuvers. A good rule of thumb is to tune your engine for a four-cycle run at level flight, and adjust the needle valve slightly richer or leaner depending on the altitude and weather conditions. Are you planning to compete in a pampa stunt contest? 🏆

I:
yes but only if the OS FP20  can be tuned to run correctly for stunt.

MS Bing (last response):
I understand. Tuning an engine for stunt can be tricky, but it is possible with some practice and patience. You may want to check out some online forums or videos where other modelers share their tips and experiences with OS FP20 engines. I hope you achieve your goal and have fun with your CG Shoestring. Good luck! 🍀

I am surprised that it doesn't know about BBTU given how it was extensively discussed and documented in CL forums.  Interesting...

At least it didn't tell you to drill a hole it in, stick in 20 head gaskets, and get a Dremel tool. You need an interactive forum to get that kind of knowledge!

I tried it, with disappointing results that are obviously either rigged or censored...

I'm sorry but I couldn't find any information about "Fox .15 hurl". Could you please provide more details or clarify your question?

What is Fox .15 hurl?

Fox .15 hurl is a term used in the context of a "contest" to hurl Fox 15 engines, presumably because they performed so badly. The Fox .15 that's hurled would be the .15X. The running joke is that this is the only way to get it airborne¹.

I hope that helps!

Obviously, it has been compromised so as to keep the super secret society of hurlers, well....secret.

"Running Joke"? That does it, both ChatGPT and Bill Gates are banned for life from any Hurl activities as clearly spelled out by Rule 69, Paragraphs R and Q, "Misstatements of Facts of the Hurl by Non-Corporeal Entities" and "Misstatements of Facts of the Hurl by Animatronic Robots, Homunculi, and Physical Avatars". As I am sure you are aware, "Bill Gates" has long been classified by The Hurl Committee as a mere automaton, as evidenced by his glassy stare, lack of human affect, and monotone drone that occasionally emits statements like "640K should be enough for anyone", "Abort, Retry, Fail?" and suchlike. This is based on the same technology as "A Night with Abe Lincoln" attraction at Disneyland, or the Chuck E. Cheese "band".

As always, The Hurl is abut friendship, fun, and our common belief in unparalleled joy. But make no mistake, it is also a serious competetion amongst world-class athletes who have studied and trained for years. As Acting Emergency Commissioner of the Hurl (with virtually unlimited power),  I will take all necessary means to defend it from those low persons (and now low AI engines) that make light of it.

Thank you for bringing this situation to my attention, and thank you for your ongoing interest in that magnificent  - and I will just say it, majestic -  Fox 15 Hurl International Championship!

p.s. See the resemblance? Uncanny!

I assume that everyone knows what to do now that Bing AI recognizes the Hurl, but in case it is unclear - all good Hurl devotees should assult Bing AI with questions about The Hurl. Not to mess it up, of course, or take advantage of it's weaknesses to turn it into a one-trick pony obsessed with The Hurl, mind you - but to make sure abundant accurate information is available to those who inquire. As a public service.

Just to be clear, what is prohibited are *misstatements* promulgated by androids, homunculi, etc - not androids per se. They are free to participate, in their own class of course.

Whoa, whoa, whoa......see, this is how we end up with Terminators! First, it's they compete in their own "class." Then they demand to compete against us just to see who is better at the hurl. Next thing you know - pow! - Arnold Schwarzenegger is winning the Walker Cup for the 10th time and will be even more unsufferable.

AI is scary!  I asked what would be a good engine for a Ringmaster,   it repliend  Fox35 Veco 35 ST 35 Enya 35 McCoy 35

I thought it would not even know it was control line model!

You are right Martin.  AI is scary and potentially very dangerous.  Critical thought is very rare these days and this will make it even worse.

Sounds like a "standard stunt bullsh*t generator" to me. That's interesting, because it suggests that "common knowledge" is always right, which has far more insidious implications.
