, when they, WHOOOO BOY! Man, that is some GENUINE TALENT!. I was hoping to see Arthur Treacher, but I guess he had passed by then. I'll have to check out the others this weekend.

We know there are a lot of stunt guys who play or played guitar, there are also a lot of them that play trombone. At a contest at Buder Park one year, a plan was executed to have brass accompaniment at the awards presentation. Allen Brickhaus, John Garrett, and Joe Thompson all brought their trombones As each name s called during the trophy presentation, they would play a little fan fair. It was quite good actually, and I wish we had a video of that presentation, Lafayette Esquadrille 2002 Broken Arrow contest. It was also the occasion of my first Expert Stunt class win, and over 500 point score. The trophy/plaque is hanging in my kitchen!

OMG!!! I have known Uncle Jimby for well over twenty years, and he has always been one of my “Stunt Hero’s”.
A great stunt pilot and one of the greatest craftsman our hobby has ever seen. And in addition to that, one of the top five smartasses in stunt. I bow down to him. But this video totally blew me away. That was entertainment at its finest.

I would pay a hundred bucks to watch Uncle Jimby don that costume and fly stunt at the Golden State Stunt Championships. Maybe pass around a hat and up the ante.
For that matter it would be fun to watch Howard fly Stunt in a clown costume.

I sang the National Anthem on "local" tv one time. Just about had a heart attack when I looked into the camera. Made it to the end, but was never asked back. So...yah, I can imagine, but sure can't do it.

Yes, "Leave it to Shareen" was one of his more famous productions. Again, snubbed by the Academy for "Best Documentary" in 2009, which instead went to the typical Hollywood insiders. It's linked on his Youtube page.

Ted, Up to now, I thought that few other than the wifely one, Gusti, sang our national anthem with the heroism and majesty it deserves. Now, I see that YOU are in that elite class. This was really a fine rendition. Now, if only we could get the NASCAR and Indycar crowd to give it the spirit (and skills) it deserves, I could rest easy. As you know, it is not easy. Nice job!!!

Thanks Serge, that's a very nice compliment. A comparison to your Gusti makes me blush a bit, however!!

This anthem was sung before every first curtain of a community theater production of "Damn Yankees" wherein I played the part of the "mature" Joe Boyd who later gets turned into a younger version who leads the Senators to victory over the evil pin stripers. Got to sing a few songs and hug a pretty lady not my wife (but with said wife's blessing...you're familiar with her skills with auto assassinations I expect).

I was sort of in "character" as the "before the game" announcement was made but...as did all who sang the anthem before the curtain rose on different nights...sang the song with the respect it has earned.

This show/video took place somewhere in the vicinity of 2010 and I did a number of shows in the several years before and after "'Yankees". Alas, further maturation has done the evil deed on my memory and any public singing I do nowadays is with "script in hand" in community choral concerts.

But in real life, wasn't it a Tucker Special that suffered "crunch death"? It's perfectly OK to sacrifice a Nobler that way, but not a real stunter.

Just saw this, Serge. Tell Gusti I said "thanks". I thoroughly enjoyed my late in life entry into theater productions accompanied by my son, Jeff, who still has his memory! Alas, I've joined the ranks of those who run downstairs to get something important and then forget why I came down halfway down the stairs.

Double alas, maturity, work and family responsibilities stifled Jeff's involvement and now we just talk about memories. Until the current "virus" however he, my grandson Chris, my son in law Tim and his/my grandson Ryan had season tickets to a local theater to enjoy excellent community theater productions together. One of my favorite memories. Hopefully, we'll get back to that soon.
