IMPORTANT: ABOUT BEGINNER & INTERMEDIATE AT THE NATS
« on: July 16, 2022, 09:11:55 AM »
This is an update to the Beginner and Intermediate Stunt event plans for tomorrow, 17-July at the NATs.  I am the CD for the Intermediate Event, and have discussed this with Mike Stinson, the Beginner CD, and John Paris who is the overall Precision Aerobatics Event Director.

As I write this (11:15 am Saturday) the Muncie Aviation Weather forecast is showing a 72% chance of rain at 8am Sunday, with the probability increasing over the course of the day.  Probability of thunder is 26%.  AMA Event staff does an excellent job of updating the weather in real time and we will be in touch with them via walkie talkie.

If we have to, we can and will fly in the rain but we will be grounded if there is thunder.  It is going to be imperative that we get a quick start and keep things moving.  That means it is going to be vitally important that all the competitors be ready to fly when their name is called, and, if they are going to pass, they need to keep Mike or I updated on their plans.

It is also quite possible (even likely) that we will have some starts & stops over the course of the events.  It is going to call for flexibility and perseverance by all of us to make this happen.

NOTE: If the weather completely prevents us from flying these events, they will not be postponed to another day,  If we cannot fly, the events will be canceled.
