Ty, it probably doesn't matter unless Robert starts to charge by the hour!  D>K

Did your computer go down when the power went out? I'm curious why on reboot it didn't just come up to the desktop. I would suspect that your Internet explorer settings are such that you sign in automatically when you go to Stunt Hanger.... I can't see a "dead" machine being able to stay connected to SH.

At the risk of serious flames, I'll say that the problem is most likely that Windows uses both a cooperative multitasking system and does not have any sort of systematic memory protection. Windows also uses FAT or NTFS file systems that don't do any sort of journaling. If you suddenly kill the power, depending on what the system is doing at the moment, you can serious mess things up. Windows can usually (and usually is the operative word) recover since it does keep a limited log or sorts, but sometimes it just fries stuff.

The big thing here is, sudden power loss can really mess stuff up. Might want to think about a UPS system if you do any serious work on a Windows box.

Ty, now I understand. When you intially log on to Stunt Hangar, you have a choice of being connected for one session or forever (I think that's the default setting). That's a bit of a misnomer because you aren't really logged in when SH isn't open in your browser. What it means is that a cookie is stashed on your computer and  when you select SH in your  favorites, the browser, takes you to the website but you don't have to login each time. It appears that it's been open all the time but it isn't. The cookie does the log on  work for you.

So the bottom line is that when Stunt Hangar isn't open in your browser, you aren't logged in.

Just in passing, if you decided to dump all of your old cookies (an option available in Internet Explorer) be sure you have all of your passwords. It requires a full login to every website you frequent.

Thanks Dick,  I too wondered how I could shut down the computor without logging off and not accumulate any more time.  DOC Holliday
