So, what image hosting sites are people using now?  I am having some trouble with the few Ive tried since Tinypic died.

I use a laptop and all my images are in a series of folders or on my desktop

just open the photo/image with most typical manipulation software   I use Microsoft Picture manager ----"Compress" to: documents, web page, or e-mail messages....if you know the stunt hanger limits you can "Resize" with most photo manager/ editors

pretty sure I just hit the add attachments link in reply and find my image and hit send or save ....I have never used a third party app on this site

It's not too hard to post images using stunthanger to store them.  As Fred says, as long as you can figure out how to reduce the size of your images to get under the 1 MB filesize limit here on stunthanger, you will not need to store your pictures on any third party website.

You can post here from a variety of devices:  deskside PCs, laptops, tablets, phones, etc.  Each one may be a little different.  In my case, I take pics with several cameras or my phone, then transfer them to my deskside PC.  The phone pictures I send to my PC using "facebook Messenger."  Often, once I have whatever picture it is displayed on my PC, I use the "Screenhunter" app to grab a snapshot of the image, and upload that.

If you are finding your images are too big, and you don't want to take the time to reduce their size later using an app like Screenhunter, Photoshop or similar, another approach is to set your camera / phone / device to capture in a medium to low resolution.  10 megapixels is not needed.  An image 1000 x 1000 pixels, or 1 megapixels, is adequate and often better than what we get.  A picture of a plane 200x100 pixels, 0.02 megapixels, often lacks the detail we'd like.  This topic, number of pixels, isn't really that hard, involving only math as far as multiplication.  To be clear, filesize in Mega Bytes and image dimensions in Mega Pixels are not the same thing, though there is a relationship.

Imgur.  Simple drag and drop to upload.  Copy the BBcode link and paste it into the message.  Easy.

I also post pictures directly on Stunthanger. The reason is that was the way Leonard Neuman wanted it done on Stuka Stunt forum (but only 50kb per picture) so that a few years down the line, the pictures would still be on SSW and not a blank space. Makes sense to me. Sparky is way more generous with 1,000kb total per post. I still try to keep the file size down to 100kb or somewhere near that. My software of choice is IrfanView. It's really easy to use, but right now, for some reason, my laptop's software decided I shouldn't be able to load pictures direct from my digital cameras to the confuser. Used to...can't now. Billy Gates changed something, IDK what. Yeah, I'm PO'd.  HB~> Steve

I use what came with the computer.  Had to change settings in the digital camera so the pictures were not too large.  Still have to edit for the other sites.  In fact I quit trying to load pictures on Stuka Stunt long before the forum was taken down.

Would give details of how I do it, but showing how in person is so much easier. D>K
