Best wishes for Jim.

The good news is that I had spinal surgery a couple of years ago. No problems and it fixed my condition completely. Hopefully he will have the same outcome.

I sure hope his goes waaaaaay better than mine did. I'll skip the details and just say that the Dr. got an "F" in surgery that day. And that's why I have to use a cane to stand up.

Good luck Jim and prayers for you.

Best of luck Jim.
I had my spine "modified" 20 ish years ago. It saved my life. Without that surgery I would not be here today.
Hope yours goes as well Jim!
Hope to see you next year at the NW Regionsls.

I heard from Gordan that Jim's surgery went well. They have had Jim up and doing a bit of walking.

Thanks for the good words.
I am out of the hospital and in re-hab now.  The surgery was successful and I can walk.  At the Nats and W/C I was having a bit of trouble walking long distances.  A couple days after returning home it started being difficult to stand and walk and got worse each day until I could not take care of myself and went to the emergency room.  1 1/2 weeks in the hospital and diagnosed with Stenosis.  A narrowing of the vertebrae pinching on the nerves when I stood up.  My insurance insisted on going to re-hab for 3 weeks to see if that would relieve the problem which of course it did not.  Off to the hospital again for surgery.  As I said earlier all is well now and now I can walk without pain and need to build up my strength and endurance so I can go home.  Probably in 3 weeks as I live alone and have stairs to contend with etc.
I look forward to flying season next year if I can cure the weird problems I have been having with my Apteryx.

Glad the surgery went well for you Jim!  Sounds like you will be back up to full speed soon.   I have Stenosis as well though not to the extent of yours.   Mine just makes an arm-usually NOT the flying arm go to jello and just hang for brief periods once in a while.

Take care

Good news. I remember Jim running rapidly between stunt and speed circles at the NW Regionals, but he was only 75 then.

Great news, Jim, and hope you get your youth back!

Today, I just got the news that I'll be having my left knee replaced on Nov. 5 instead of Nov. 24 as previously scheduled! Yayyyy! I guess somebody chickened out. But I had to have the discussion with the spousal unit...IF she would be my designated assistant/caregiver. That lead to an argument, of course. It started because they used the word "partner". Glad things are progressing in the right direction Jim.  Good therapy might be pretending you are flying an Overhead Eight!

Jimbo,    Some additional good therapy would be to spend some time twisting around the speed pylon.   See you in Roseburg next year!
