Title: Plane needs a ride to VSC (CA)
Post by: Clint Ormosen on February 02, 2012, 06:25:59 PM
Please, if anyone going through CA can haul another model to VSC, let me know. I can help with $ for fuel. I can meet up with you somewhere. I'm around the Sacramento area. If I can't find a way to get the plane there, I can't go. I'm holding off buying a plane ticket until I get this figured out.

Clint, I have a take-apart Smoothie that fits in a snowboard carrier, the one that went to England with me in 2007. If you can't arrange to get your own OTS/Classic ship there in a box you are welcome to take the Smoothie. It went to Brodak's event a few years ago in the same carrier. It is smaller than a golf bag carrier and was no problem on the airlines.

BTW I am making good progress on the 25 Sakitume.

Cool Mike! Thanks! I'll let you know if that becomes my only option.

What if I crash it?

Clint, don't think about such stuff.   If you worry about it, you will crash.   It's like that old statement, "Just one more flight".  Nine times out of  ten it is the last flight.   Just think tho, if you do crash it,  it can be replaced and probably with a better flying plane. H^^

Clint, this Smoothie thing would only be an absolute last resort in case you can't get any of your own beauties down to VSC but still want to go there and fly something. It flies very well, by the way, and is a good wind ship.

As for crashing... really, when was the last time you crashed anything? Plus, this is an ARF that has done its duty and is now considered expendible.
