PAMPA Hall of Fame
« on: February 01, 2022, 10:16:27 AM »
The PAMPA website will soon have new information on the PAMPA Hall of Fame (HOF).  The HOF was initiated in 1992 with a two year selection cycle.  The program was continued through 2014 with 60 individuals inducted.  The program has since been dormant but is now being restarted.  A HOF Committee has been formed by the PAMPA President to oversee this process.  The committee consists of myself, Bob Hunt, and Frank McMillan.  The HOF Policies and Procedures document has been updated that explains the HOF program and selection process and will be posted on the website.  The HOF Nomination Packet form will also be posted on the website.  This Nomination Packet is to be used to formally submit any individual to be considered for the HOF.

Any person can nominate anyone for the PAMPA Hall of Fame.   PAMPA membership to submit a nomination is not required.

The nomination period will close on August 31 with selections made by the end of the year.

It is emphasized that nominations MUST be submitted using the Nomination Packet.  I cannot overemphasize that this form is to be used for any nomination.  Until the form appears on the website, I will provide the form to those who request it.  Simply send me a message with your email address and I will send the form to you.  I will also send a copy of the Policies and Procedures that fully explains the process.   I do not intend to use this Stunt Hangar forum to conduct PAMPA business, but until the HOF section is established on the PAMPA website, this is the most expeditious way to get this process started so that nominations can be started as soon as possible.

Excellent news. Would it be possible to get a list of who is in it?  I think I know most of them, but I can't find anything resembling a list.

BTW, I also predict that there will soon be a smattering of mock surprise at "so and so isn't in!". In most previous cases, when I looked, "so and so"'s buddies never went to the trouble of nominating him, and then used that as "proof" that "so and so" was blackballed, etc. If someone thinks they have a good nominee, *you are going to have to go to the trouble of nominating them*. It's not that hard, but it does take a bit of work. Don't want to do the work, then don't complain about someone's omission.

The entire time I was in PAMPA, I was very disappointed at some of what went on regarding the HOF, with people not bothering to vote when they were asked, endless arguing over who was, was not, and should or should not be in it. I hope this reboot of the process can resolve those problems - great idea.

Thanks for posting the existing HOF list.  Looking forward to the nomination packet being released.

In my first post above regarding the PAMPA Hall of Fame, I explained that the Operating Policies and Procedures together with the Hall of Fame Nomination Packet have been updated will soon be available on the PAMPA website.  I also explained I could make these documents available now if one wishes to start putting a nomination package together.  Anyone can submit a nomination for anyone.  To do so, a Nomination Packet must be filled out and returned to me.  You can contact me by sending a message to me on this Stunt Hangar Forum.  Send me your email address and I will forward a copy of the Nomination Packet (7 pages) as well as the Policies and Procedures (3 pages) that explains the process.  The Hall of Fame Committee wants to get this started now so that there is time to prepare the Nomination Packets and submit them prior to the cutoff date of August 31.
