Plane Carrier

Guys,
Here is the pictures of the plane carrier that I have used for over 15 years. It is made from 3/4"x3" pine with simple shelf rack arms and track to allow adjustment to the spacing between the planes. The arms are space about 24" apart. The arms are covered with simple foam pipe insulation to protect the wing surface. One thing to keep in mind when setting the spacing between the arms is to check that the gear fits either between them or is outside the arms. The angle is set by adjusting the height of the feet/legs at the back of the main legs. The cross braces are attached with "L" brackets.

For my 1/2A fleet, I took a cardboard packing box, folded in the leaves of the top, and then put appropriate vertical notches down the two long sides. The notches are then protected by clear packing tape. A bit of thin foam sheet would be even better. Just point the nose down and slide the wing into the notches. One box holds 5 models safely, and you can poke a few smaller models (Mouse racers or logs) between the five if you accept a bit of likely hanger rash. You can also space them closer together if your landing gear can be unplugged. I did that on the Baby Skyray.

I've also seen carriers made of PVC pipe. Seems to work fine
