Plane and builder ID needed

This one is from a VSC about 12 years or more ago. Probably one of the I-beamers but I've forgotten the info on it.

Elwyn I'll risk it to say that's a Steve Wooley Argus.  The very slender rear fuselage and super low ground stance makes me believe so.  The bottom fuselage and cowling appears to have been left more square than the original.  No clue on the builder.

It's been told that Steve left zero ground clearance for the prop.  He then took off a few times to grind the tips down to about 9 3/4" diameter which he thought was about right.  The Cobra in the museum seems to prove that out exactly.

Thanks. I looked up plans to the Argus and it looks like A good match. Now to ID the builder.
