cradle update
« on: March 31, 2012, 03:38:35 PM »
An update on my trip to the Cradle Of Aviation museum. It is a great place for plane lovers. Super displays old and new. We met with a couple of gents from the Nassau R/c Fliers club and talked about u/c. There club has a couple of members that fly u/c as well they feel it is on a comeback. We met with the museum curator and we will definitely be there next year showing u/c. They wanted us to come tomorrow but being palm sunday we had plans. put this stop on your list if you are on Long Island.---LOUIE  H^^ D>K

Good job, Louie! I will have to visit the Cradle of Aviation Museum again soon.

I also like the museum in CT at Bradley Airport. Supposedly there is a museum in the works for Massachusetts, too.

    Hey Louie,
I found out recently there is an air museum in Monroe, La. down the road from you near the airport. I believe it has some Gen.Claire Chennault gear and other interesting things, although I've never been there . I hope to go on next trip to TX.

t michael- Thanks, the book looks like a good investment

joe-That glider must have been really scary, they had lots of guts! I liked the Brewster Buffalo. The f6f Hellcat is my alltime favorite. The diorama with the Jenny is outstanding.

joseph-Republic airport in Farmingdale L.I. has another museum and the Intrepid carrier in Manhattan is on the list.

thanks Louie  H^^ D>K
