Title: Pix of my Oriental
Post by: Jim Oliver on August 06, 2007, 07:06:20 AM
Here are some shots of my three times crashed/repaired Oriental ARF w/B40 power.

Last rebuild was finished with Sig colored silkspan and Sig clear dope.

I dig that color scheme!  How easy is it to dye silkspan?

Guys,

Sig calls it "Esaki Plyspan".  Comes in Red, Orange, Yellow and White.  About the weight of silkspan, heavier than the "Jap tissue" that Sig also sells.

Much easier to do than you might think.  NO Masking!!

Jim:
SHOW-OFF!  (Yes I'm jealous)  Especially amazing because you said you have crashed & repaired it - and it STILL looks great in transparent covering - WAY TO GO!

Actually, Matthew, "Dee Rice" is the designer.  It is his real name.  He has come back to flying after many years, and his latest design is an enlarged, piped, Oriental Plus.  Both planes are simple builds, and excellent flyers!
