Dallas New Year 2016
« on: January 04, 2016, 03:46:27 PM »
Many of Dallas Model Airplane Assoc. members did the New Year's Day 2016 thing again. Temp was about 28 degrees to start the day, and slow raised to the mid 30's before we all went for breakfast and/or lunch at Chubby's. Winds were about 10 mph early and decreased later .

Unfortunately, Dave Ek did not have a new version of his famous Ceiling Fan.. He said it was too cold to tamper with....he brought a BiSlob instead.

Sleep Gomwz came with several very original airplanes. He has fun doing things different!

1) Ken Boone says it is TOO cold!
2) Sleepy Gomez and his bipe
3)The flight line was busy!

Looks like a good time.  I had (still have) the flu.  Maybe next year.

Looks like a good time. y1

Bill's Boo-Ray looks great, always really nice stuff out of that shop. Did he build it with scale competition in mind or as a C/L racer, or...?

The BooRay is built as a Sportsman Goodyear racer. Per Goodyear rules, the outlines must be within 5% of scale, but with the markings my priority was to make it look good without tons of effort rather than try to make it scale. It gets the point across, but compare it to a photo of the real thing and you'll notice the differences!

BTW, the next day it went to Kansas with its new owner, Melvin Schuette.

I thought it looked like it was "purpose" built, great looking model Bill. If you ever feel like sending a Crusader home with someone... ;D
