Congratulations to Derek. All your hard work wasn't in vain. I for one, was seriously pumped up with your Matrix stunter. The whole concept just lit me up, and I really got on board the Matrix program. I personally was in your fan club, for you to really rock and roll at the Nats.

Figure out that trim problem and get back in it. If I make it to the Nats, hopefully you will see "my concept" and we will get to duke it out. Please don't make me take the red pill!!

Derek, I was watching a video I made of the 2006 Nats, you were flying a Staris awfully well, what happened to that plane, if you don't mind me asking?

First, Congrats to Derek for his Concours!

Now, John, I would believe that the Staris was probably lost in the fire when he also lost the plane he used to win the Jr. World Championship.  Derek an Dale lost mainly everything in that shop fire.

Considering the amount of effort that went into that finish, you certainly deserve it, Derek. Well executed and awesome work!

I just want to thank everyone for their kind comments about the Matrix. Sorry it took me so long to reply it has been a busy few weeks as my house finally sold while I was at the Nats and I had to start moving as soon as I got home. That and working 50+ hours a week has made it difficult to keep up with the forum talk.

Thanks again.

I already have something in mind for next year...

Do you need any "Buttafucco Stunt Team" decals for it?

Panel lines, rivets, shading,  I guess that's what it takes nowadays.

I am sure I could find a spot for the highly collectible, extremely rare, Buttafucco Stunt Team decals. Howard owes me some ink lines too, he promised to bring them to the Nats but he let me down and forgot to pack them. You just cant trust the JCT.

Yes I would! But that is the price you pay when you make the wrong decision.

That, and months of sealing, sanding, perfect cowl fits, flap to fairing fits, perfect wing root fillets, hours of masking and sealing to prevent paint bleeding,
several nights of color sanding and polishing.

Nothing to it

I take my hat off to you Derek and all Concourse award winners. Some people cannot appreciate the effort and detail it takes to win that award.

Not to mention the artistic part.  That part of my brain is brain-dead.
