I don't have that picture, but it is good to see you on here. Haven't seen you at  GSSC for a while and thought of you during those fires. I know you are not right next to it  but those hills can do funny things with the winds and fire.

   This will be interesting to see if someone has a photo. I think the only thing I have seen in the old magazines is a three view/sorta plan in American Modeler. Bob Whitely's rendition was the only one that I had ever seen in person and I think he repainted his at least once?? I hope something turns up!

  I just checked mine. I would say that the overall color is dark blue with light gray trim??  The photo was by Bob Gialdini and I don't think that was published anywhere before the Stunt History books. Wynn certainly had ton of photos to go through to put those two volume together!!  Glad he did because otherwise we might not have ever gotten to see them.

Wasn’t his “original”Shark called a Humbler?

   That was the original name for the Shark .45. It was published in American Modeler as the Shark.45 because Jetco was going to announce the release of it's kit in the same magazine issue. That was a common practice back in those days.  It was sort of a dig at George Aldrich and the Nobler. Just like McFarland's Ruffy was in answer to Palmer's Smoothie.  After sitting in the banquet rooms at the early VSC contests and listening to the legends go back and forth at each other, I can just imagine there was a lot of what we would call trash talking and gamesmanship at those early NATS competitions!!

    If anyone has a copy of Lew's original pencil drawings, I would really like to have a copy to add to my Shark .45 collection of kits and plans, and compare them to each other just out of curiosity. If something is available, just contact me by PM. I don't think I got to see Jim's rendition of the Humbler but I did get to see and hold Charlie Reeves' model at a Paducah contest many years ago.

I’m not sure if Jim had a copy of Charlie’s plans or just used the ones he had.
You might can check with Lou to see if he has them. He cleaned out Jim’s shops.
