I have had the pleasure of talking with Jean Pailet several times recently about his beautiful model designs and he graciously took the time to give me some history about how some of his designs came to be and how they evolved. He gave me his blessings to kit his designs and after going through the proper channels with Flying Models, I am very excited about the kit line up for this year featuring Jean's designs. Jean sent me some pictures and articles of his planes that appreared in Flying Models some years ago. These are the only pictures I have been able to obtain and I wanted to share some of them with you.
The first design I have chosen to offer in a kit is the Zephyr. According to Jean, the Zephyr was conceived by taking another one of his designs, The Pegasus, cutting off the booms and redesigning the fuselage. It has an upright engine and the wing is a constant chord until about the 6th rib (where the twin booms were located) and at this point the leading edge gently sweeps back and is tapered from the point to the tip.
Then from the Zephyr, Jean evolved it into the Playmate, which is my personal favorite. He basically took the Zephyr, inverted the engine and straightened out the wing and tapered it from the root rib to the tip rib.
An last but certainly not least is his beautiful Skylark with the elliptical wing and tail. This is a beautiful plane especially if you like elliptical wings.
Right now the Kenhi Mustang, Equalizer and Jerkline special, and the Stuntin 19 Jr. Ringmaster are in production and will be shipping out shortly. Once that is done, I will start producing the Pailet designs for kitting. The order in which they will be kitted is as Follows.
First - The Zephyr
Second - The Playmate
Third - The Skylark.
I will be updating on my Website as well and if you wish to be put on the list for any of the Pailet designs, please let me know.
Thank you all and I hope this will further give you a service and offering that you will enjoy.

I had waited for a long time for somebody to make a kit of the Skylark. As a kid I did the wing from plans but didn`t build the plane since I joined the USAF and left home. Is it going to be completely Laser cut?

I love that Pegasus, but, I am broke or is it airplane poor! The Pegasus is my choice as it is different. H^^

Doc don't give up on a kit of the Pegasus. Somewhere down the line when you are ready and I am through with the current kit runs, we can talk about cutting you a kit. I will hand cut it for you just like I do all custom request kits.
