Picture (mis)behavior...
« on: June 21, 2007, 04:13:45 PM »
I have a question:  How come some pictures in the postings, when you click on them, enlarge where they sit, while others (sometimes in the same post) open in a new pop-up window?  I can't see any difference in their designations.

I don't guess it's important, don't count this as a complaint, I'm just curious.

Do you have a specific example?  I mean, can you link us back to where this is being observed?

Ray;

     I have found this to happen----If you click on the picture it will open where it is, if you cliick on the link below the picture it will open a new window. Is this what you are talking about?

Go to Dan Banjock's jet and click on the pics, then go to Hutch's P-38 and click on the pic. This is what he means (I think).

Go to the "Nieuport scale model" just above here, third reply, try the three pics there...first two open in a separate window; 3rd one opens within the reply.

Oops, I just jumped ahead of it of course...about 3rd topic down from this one...

Some pictures probably open in a different window because they are too tall or wide to fit on the same page with the message.

I see no problem with that either.  At least the pictures come up one way or another.  I get irritated when the computor says file can not be found.  Have fun,  DOC Holliday

I've also seen some that don't appear to change at all when you click on them. I take that to mean that the file size is so small...or maybe the pixel width is so small...that the thumbnailed version is all there is. That tells me that some guys haven't figured out how to compress pictures, just resize them. Maybe we need an 'article' on how to do that with various types of software.  n~ Steve
