Well some of you might have caught in the Mcminnville Thread that we have a new flier in our ranks. Her name is Jessica. she is 14, and today was her second day of flying. We got her 5 flights today and I think she hung around Randy Powell to long, she says she likes to fly low!,,, dang near gave me coronary a couple times. She is flying the ringmaster that Pat Johnston gave her with an FP 20, 58 foot lines and a 10 x 4 prop. as you can see, she is lovin it! She hels that little beastie about 4 feet for 5 or 6 laps in a row with hardly a quiver. I dont be shy about filling the tank the little rascal doesnt even get a hint of dizzy. (see what she does when I lean it out and put a 10 x 5 on it, hehe,,, ok I wont really!) Even after she had to clean the plane and roll the lines she was still grinning.
a couple picts attached.

Hi Mark.
It's always great to see a new YOUNG member of the C/L fraternity! Especially one of the fairer sex. Another Dawn Cosmillo?? ;D
Keep her flying! y1

Great job, Jessica!!
It's really good to see kids away from the video games and TV-----and doing something that will actually teach them something.
Cheers,
Jim

We ahve beent alking, she wants to build her own plane next. Plans call for a pair of Shark 402's. A Pat Johnston design, no flaps. Build two, I do a step and then she can see what to do and does hers. I am going to start cutting "kits" in the next few weeks while watching nascar or football. I have another plane commited to build but probably will be well on the way with it before we get ready to build hers. I ahve a couple more 25 sized planes floating about for backups to the ringmaster. Its more fun than you can imagine watching her go at it!

Mark,
The Shark 402 is a great choice. I've flown a couple of Pat's before. Very easy to handle. Let her pick her own colors.
Hey, what happen to the Cougars? The Huskies dusted Syracuse. LL~

Ok first off, the Cougs were picked under for this game, never expected to win. That being said, hey this was a feignt,, to set up the pac 10 teams, make them feel like we are vulnerable.... as for colors on the Shark, we are probably a LOOOONNNNGGG way from that but rest assured I will let her use whatever colors she wants. Though she did mention the red dope she got at mcminnville last year,,,,, and the fuse will probably get painted, so,,,

Mark, a really good looking young lady there. Showed pictures to Emmy and maybe it will encourage her to get back out. Go get them Jessica. DOC Holliday

Mark,
>>Ok first off, the Cougs were picked under for this game, never expected to win.<<
Yea, and the Huskies were picked to lose to Syracuse, too. The word was that it would be a close game since both programs were at a similar level of development, but that Syracuse had the better line and so would win a close one. Hmmm, 42-12 didn't seem like a close game to me, but hey, I guess it depends on one's point of view. Sure was fun to watch though (my wife is a UW grad - fan by adoption).
Tell Jessica to go with Red and Silver. :)

Oddly since you mentioned it, I happen to have in my posetion a roll of grey monokote and a roll of crimson, hmmmmm wonder why I got that, surely I know better than to go to the westside with a crimson and grey airplane with perhaps a coug logo on the wing or tail. That would just be asking for trouble wouldnt it? hmmmm then again,,
