Pigtails?

Anyone know what causes these pig tails and how to prevent them?

Or better yet get them out?

Make everything else into bacon, ham, and sausage. Throw out the pigtails, the a-holes and the squeals.   LL~ Steve

I think the picture is of spiral bends in a set of lines. It's usually caused by being to aggressive trying to untwist the lines.

Or in flying combat with them.

The only way I know to deal with them is to unroll them from the reel into the trash can and walk away.  Roll some new lines on the reel.
Like Howard I have a lot of those left over from the old combat days.  Big trouble trying to use them for stunt.
The curly-q's indicate that they have been overstressed in bending...prevention is don't do whatever you did to get them that'away.  Assuming of course you weren't flying combat with them.

You have to be fanatical about how you handle your flying lines, unrolling and rolling them up....

I've never heard them called pigtails. Shows what I don't know..
