Title: Philly TFR
Post by: Robert Zambelli on June 29, 2011, 03:36:11 PM
FWIW:

"A new FDC NOTAM/TFR has been issued for the area surrounding Philadelphia, PA for Thursday, 6/30 from 3:45p until 10:15p EDT. The TFR is issued for security purposes to cover VIP movement in this area. Outdoor model aircraft operations are prohibited within the 30nm circle for the specific times listed below. Please note that TFRs are subject to change with very short notice. Check back often for the most current NOTAM/TFR information."

The TFR does not include control line model aircraft. Both AMA and EAA have addressed this with FAA.

I should note this was addressed initially thru AMA district VII and our control line flying at the Midwest RC Club field in SE Michigan.

I have been emailed these in the past, if you click on the gps map, it sometimes gives the exact location of vip appearance. Doesnt seem to secure to me. When Obama was in Edison we new the location he was going to be visiting.

Isn't that the purpose, tell the enemy where you are going to be and the approximate time.  I fly control line and if they stay above 60 feet they have no worry. VD~
