The gods of flight didn't want to see me through the wingover. Shawn did very well . We had a great day and a good contest. Thanks for the before and after pics Rob. Ken

Classy Magician. Is that the only Profile competitive on the L-Pad?   ;D Don't know about the pilot.  8) Thanks for posting Rob. Great contest.

Yes, it is a nice Magician...and just like the two I have, it has movable wing flaps ( not stationary ).....JMHO, they fly better with flaps.

It's also a cheater, every way I could think of that didn't look too obvious. Flaps are about 3/8" wider at the base. Elevator/stab about 1/3 longer. Stab was moved back. I fly it in Classic, but always chuckle, guffaw, cough, say under my breath it's a cheater! They let me fly Classic at the NATS the disadvantages of my skill and the inherent liabilities of a profile plane obvious when flying against the pristine full bodied serious competition. I wound up competing with it in Advanced on the L-pad at the Nationals. My various Vectors (an ARF, a built plane - by someone else - with ugly peeling Rusto) either crashed or, surprisingly, didn't fly as well. It was my first attempt on the L-pad. I am still an Intermediate flier. Flew Advanced in order to have something to do besides acting as peanut gallery and (unreliable) assistant to Dan Banjok's myriad imaginings. The profile acquitted itself o.k. If I didn't make so many mistakes in the pattern (and always did all the shapes) my showing might have been respectable. As it is, it was a gas flying up there at the snooty  :-* aristocratic elevation. Afterwards, Bob Brookins informed me that I can no longer fly in Intermediate period. Oh Well. Peter principle. I Peter Principled myself.
