Happens here in Houston, too. Fortunately, the Sun is on the upwind side in the AM. It absolutely sucks when the Sun is directly downwind!

That is why I carry and extra pair of sun glasses that fit over my standard sun glasses. No problem with the sun.
You can get them at Wal-Mart less then 20 bucks.

I get up quite early to go flying ... usually getting my first flight just as the sun is coming up. I though it unusual that if there is any wind at all, its toward the sun. I wear dark polarized glasses, so its more of a nusance .... but after awhile I started using it as a tool. There is roughly a 2 hour window that I can use the sun as reference. Loops, manuevers that intersect, and wingovers can be practiced using the sun as the center. If I'm off target, I can tell right away.

Probably not the best thing to be doing, but rather than fighting it, I've been using it. Florida doesn't offer much in the way of cloud cover, especially in the morning.

It's the same riding Bicycles. If you are riding up a long hill with about 200 lbs. on it thie wind is always blowing in your face.

Which is why I like the Oakley snowboard sunglasses. Designed for snowblindness. Works pretty well in this application.
