Leroy Heikes of Kalamazoo Michigan is the winner of the "Perky Beauty Contest"
Congratultions Leroy.
Larry Rice of Black Hawk Models and myself had quite a few models to look at. They were all very nice and we had a difficult time picking the model that we thought best represented the "era" the Perky was designed in. Leroy's model was built from a BHM kit ( one of the contest requirements) the paint scheme and colors he used were typical of that time. His craftsmanship and attention to detail are excellent.
We will be using a picture of Leroy's model on the label of the production run of Perky kits and he will recieve "free" the first kit from the run.
Black Hawk Models is running another builders' contest. This one is for the Fokker DV11 kit. We will get contest details posted soon.
Here are pictures of Leroy's Perky. y1

Without having seen the other entrants I would say Leroy's would be hard to beat. Great "classic" look.

Black Hawk is going to be using a picture of Leroys' model on the labels for the Perky kits. How cool is that? Leroy is famous! y1

Leroy congratulations you really captured the historical image I have of that era and model. Well done.
