Percy and Rina Attfield
« on: September 12, 2013, 10:43:03 AM »
For this who know Percy and Rina, I just received the following from Percy:

-----------------------------
Dear Bill,
Rina passed away in her sleep 10 September. She went to sleep at 10 on Monday night and did not wake up Tuesday morning. We were on holiday at the Kruger National Park, it was totally unexpected.

She and I enjoyed visiting with you and were always impressed by how much interest you had in our welfare.

Kind regards
Percy Attfield
------------------------

They are dear friends from their days living in the States and visits we've had overseas. Such a shock and such a shame.

Very sorry to hear of this.  We met Percy and Rina several years ago when they attended the VSC, and again at the '96 Worlds in Sweden.

Lovely people, both of them.

Condolences to Percy.

Very sad news, Rina was a real sweetheart.  Rina and Percy were a wonderful couple. I'm sure Percy will be back in Vancouver again to visit his son and daughter-in-law, but Rina's absence will be greatly felt.

Take care Percy.

Thank you for all for these wonderful messages.  I have also received many many letters of condolences from fellow flyers all over the world and all of them talk of Rina's caring and loving attitude.

People caring makes the unexplainable more bearable.  She was not sick, we were on holiday with  the Ryans from Colorado who is visiting us.  They were absolutely amazing in their support.

It is Gods design that we all will leave this earth at some point and since I loved her so much I am very pleased she did not suffer a long sick bed as many of you on this forum have had to endure.

The control line fraternity is always there for you and it helps a lot to know people are reaching out with love.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Percy,

I am so sorry to hear about Rina's passing.  My thoughts and prayers are with you!! I am so glad I got to know both of you during your stay in the Denver area, and that we shared some good times flying together.
