I just got the December issue of Air Classics magazine, and read in the Reno coverage that Darryl Greenamyer had passed away on October 1, 2018. For those that are not familiar with that name, do the Google thing and read up on one of the most fascinating people in aviation history. There is an old saying that "when they made him, they broke the mold." But I think Mr. Greenamyer was a hand crafted one of a kind that I don't think we will ever see the likes of walk the earth ever again. There are and have been great pilots, great mechanics, great engineers and designers, but to find all of those attributes wrapped up in one human being, well, that's damn hard to find. You could either like him or hate him, but no can deny what he achieved during his storied career.
It is truly fitting to use the phrase;
Gog "SPEED" Darryl Greenamyer,
