I posted the following over on the other forum. For those who may not go there often, I'm also posting here.
Sunday was a nice flying day here in the Wasatch Front. it was a bit windy in the hours before noon as a small front passed over, but the early afternoon was great.
Norm Whittle brought out his new Pathfinder Twin. I believe he's found the best combination of engines for this design. He's using the ball bearing OS .15's used in higher performance applications.
In case you are new to the forum, or missed earlier posts from last year, the Twin was designed to compete in the Profile 40 class of competition.
Whereas Gordy and I have been using 20% nitro in our .15fp's and la's to run a pair of 9X4 props, Norm had to detune his a bit, and runs 10% fuel. Great runs are occuring for him, almost every flight.
Gordy and I have opened up our venturii's to .250, and may be able to cut back a bit on nitro. Gordy changed to APC 8X4, and then 9X4 props with 1/8" clipped from each end of the prop. Our runs are now much steadier.
More trimming and changes will be followed up on next session. We think we may need to go to slightly longer lines. Mine are the shortest at slightly over 62' centerline to centerl;ine, while both Gordan's and Norms are 64, and a little bit.
Lap times seem to be in the 4.8 to 5.0 range using these line legnths.
In the following pictures, Gordan's is the red one, mine is the blue and yellow one, and Norms is the Blue and Silver.
Gordan has also started applying the trim to his Pathfinder LE.
Here also, are a few pictures of it as it looked on Sunday.

Gordan,
Yea, I didn't think so. So then, the vote is still out. I'll have to reserve judgment (as if my vote counted).
I like them both. I look forward to seeing them live.
