...panty hose...
« on: November 30, 2009, 09:22:15 AM »
Now that I have yer attention, where do ya get your "O" rings that you use to hold your "Defuser's" on the venturi??

I tried some a/c o rings and they didn't last but a few flights.
I saw some made of "Buna" that I have seen in fuel syrenges, but need to access to some small amounts.
Any suggestions will be appreciated..        D>K

Gil,
Try a hydraulice hose company. I even sold these when I worked for a friend as a fastener company.

I get mine at Lowes and Home Depot. They are the "Danco" brand. #8 and # 9 size fits OS LA 46, #10 fits ST 51.

try the Home Depot. I've got black silicone ones from them in the hardware or plumbing section. You can also use a piece of wire- wrapped a couple of times and twisted tight, and also small cable ties work. I think the wire works best...

you can also use the little silicon rubber bands that are used for tying braids in hair - you can buy pack of 50 or 100 for a dollar

being silicon - they re not affected by fuel etc like rubber is

We use small Ty-Rap (wire ty's). They use them in electronics. Home depot or Lowes.

They forgot the auto parts stores that O-rings that are impervious(did I spell that) to most petrolium products.

Panty hose?
I hear R/C scale combat guys sometimes use pantyhose to give their planes a tougher surface. Not that it helps much in reducing the number of planes they go through... but at least the material is inexpensive.

I don't think so... but maybe I should post the idea somewhere where they get to read about it.
