Here is some of the challenge that we as members of PAMPA face. Our purpose to support the event is helped if we have a great magazine because the magazine helps in many ways: it communicates in ways that support the event (and here I am referring to stunt in its many forms), it attracts new members, it educates all members, and it facilitates the generation of funds to support the event. However, the magazine becomes a liability when its issues become the focus, instead of PAMPA's focus on supporting the event; or when its funding becomes the major funding issue of the organization; or when it leads members to think they are "subscribing" rather than "volunteering" when they join PAMPA.
My opinion is that we have had a successful magazine to such an extent that it has over-shadowed the volunteer organization. Part of the way to fix this is not to hurt the magazine, but to greatly improve the organization of the volunteers. And please do not mis-interpret my use of the term "hurt", for me reducing the magazine in number of pages may not hurt it at all in regards to its being useful to PAMPA. Stunt News is a great "tool". But it is a tool and should not be an end in itself. What PAMPA needs are other tools to support its mission.
I think Matt gets this, but it is not going to happen over-night.
