There seems to have been some confusion by some PAMPA members who have registered onto the new PAMPA website (pampacl.org). Even if you have successfully registered onto the new site, you will still need to re-up for 2015. Apparently many thought that by registering they were automatically members past 2014. Not so...
For those of you who have never joined PAMPA, now is a great time to do that. PAMPA was originally conceived of as an organization dedicated to promoting communication between stunt fliers and also as an AMA recognized SIG (Special Interest Group) that administers and staffs the CL Aerobatics portion of the Nats. PAMPA came into existence in 1973 at the Nats in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. It was the brainchild of Wynn Paul.
PAMPA has waxed and waned over the years, but it is now a very solid and vibrant organization that does so much more than its originally intended purpose. Membership is a bit down of late, mainly because of the natural attrition due to many members aging out (if you get my drift...). If you have any interest at all in aerobatic flying (and, as the Editor of the 100 page, bi-monthly newsletter/magazine, I define aerobatics as any intentional deviation from level flight...), you'd be well served by PAMPA.
There are different levels of membership, predicated on how you wish to receive your newsletter/magazine. You can get the paper version, a full-color CD version, or just access to the full-color version on the website as a member. The whole enchilada gets you both the paper magazine and the access to the full-color online version. You also get access to all the previous year's newsletters/magazines in color and you can download them from the site.
Stunt News contains a wealth of information on building, flying, competing, news about the goings on in your particular district (PAMPA districts are broken up in the same manner as the AMA districts), contest reports and a contest calendar, information about all types of power systems, contest coverage, CL stunt history articles, construction features, and much more. If you are a CL Stunt fan, there is no other publication in the world that caters to your interest as does Stunt News.
Our hobby/sport is diminishing in numbers. We need to all join together to keep it going well into the future. Please consider a membership in PAMPA as an investment towards that goal.
Again, the place to go to join is: pampacl.org

Hi Bob:
I notice that photo gallery for District IV hasn't been added to in quite a long time. Who should I ask to find out the process for adding photos to the site?
Thanks,
Scott

I had no problem at all....
I chose the on-line version because I realized I was reading the whole thing before it was delivered.
The VA clinics will miss the paper edition, I'm sure.
Used Pay Pal.

I had to try a few times to download the new issue, but no biggie.

Hi Steve:
There is a renewal form in each issue of Stunt News.
Everyone: I know the new site is causing some concern; stick with it. Just follow the directions to register and to download and you should do fine. Change comes with teething pains; please don't give up on PAMPA just because we are all having some issues with the new site. It will all get better and PAMPA will be better off because of it.
Contact Bud Morrison if you are having difficulties and he'll walk you through it.

Hello Mr. Bob!
Before I try to do the computer thing, I will ask a question or 2.
Does PAMPA have LIFE MEMBERSHIP ? My AMA and NRA membership is such, Life Member.
I forget too much to fool with annual re-ups and such. Even my last Driver's License, several years ago I got one until 2020. Well maybe they know something that I don't. VD~

After a long absence I finally reuped to Pampa. Going the electronic route made it affordable for me.
Now to get the rest of the guys to join so that District VII will look bigger.
How do we post pictures?
Thanks Bob

Hi Bob: I don't care which format I get the newletter in (print, disc, online), all the same to me. Which of the membership types is most cost-effective for PAMPA as an organization? IOW if PAMPA could decide for us how to belong, what would be best? I assume PAMPA has a budget it needs to meet and wants to be efficient.
-
I think I in a way asked the same question, what is the most cost effective for PAMPA. I have down loaded the lastes Stunt News with the gorgeous young lady on the cover to a disc and have read it. The paper copy takes up too much room. Think of the postage they would save on both forms of Stunt News.

Renewed online ... quick - easy - painless ... my compliments on upgrading the site.

Re-uped just a little while ago was fast and easy.
Thanks for all the GOOD work. y1 #^

Just re-upped online for 2015. Easy-Peasy.

OK, I'lll try and renew when I get home. I have never been on the new site, and can't remember thelast time I was on the old site. Is there any special procedure for doing this, or just do it as a first time member? I don't even want to try it on anything other than my home computer or lap top. I recall sending an email to someone a while ago regarding password, but that may have been before the rework opf the web site.
Thanks a lot for all the efforts,
Dan McEntee

A question:
If I renew now, will it be good till Dec '15?
Or will it be valid for 12 months starting now??
Thanks

If we sign up now is it for 2015?
Yes, membership runs Jan 1 to Dec 31 every year. I think there's a 2 year option...but I can't login now.
When the new website was first announced, I logged in. I know my username and password...I have those in a folder in my email account, and just looked it up. But it still doesn't work.
I get SN in CD format, so I'll load in a CD and see if the renewal form is there, and if I can print it out and mail in a check. Not a problem. I'd like to be able to look at the website, tho. y1 Steve

Has the latest Stunt News been mailed yet?

Well I have just renewed for 2015 for my membership. Only signed up for basic membership with card as I hope it will save PAMPA some $$$ not having to mail disc or paper copy. Don't need the paper copy as the family gets upset if I take more than 10 minutes in the throne room and since I have now learned how to down load the on line copy and can burn my own disc why have someone else do it for me. I know I don't get the fancy picture on the disc. Life is hard. Now I need to renew to CLW. Isn't payday great. H^^
-
Re-upped. And got a mug.
I feel fancy.

I just registered and renewed my membership successfully. I wanted to try out viewing Stunt News on line, but couldn't seem to log onto that part successfully. I will try again tomorrow. Just to be sure, can I view it on line or do I have to down load it first? I would like to be able to read it on the computer at work while eating lunch and such.
Thanks a lot PAMPA!

Well can still get on what is left of the old site, but no matter what I do it won't let me onto the new site. I used my email address as instructed and gave a password, but it does not recognize either one. So now what????
If you find out "what...", please post it. I cannot get on the PAMPA website either. No way No how!!!
-
I've read mine on line and then down loaded to a file. Once in a file then I burned it to a disc.
Those having trouble are probably missing a line of reading while getting on site. I had that problem and still do. My wife says I need to take more time to read messages on the cell phone. Went to pick up grandaughter from her work and wasn't supposed to.
