Thank Bob Hunt, the "Stunt News" editor. He's the one who made the call on the cover picture, and for all the right reasons.
Pure fun.

I'm honored, surprised, and flattered to have this picture selected from all the other great pictures by Gene Martine. When I received the call asking if it would be alright if this one was used, my first reaction was, "Sure, like Bob Hunt would be calling me!", but it was really him and then I asked why me? There were plenty of other pilots better qualified (and better dressed) than me. Was it my legendary flying ability (hahaha)? After a pause, he replied, "Well, to be honest, yours was the only orange airplane." Many thanks to the Weedmans and the other members of X-47 who worked so hard to make this a great contest, many thanks to Gene for the great pictures, and most of all, to Bob Hunt for making my day. Now, I wonder how many orange airplanes will be entered next year?

Bob Hunt has taken the superb job done by Tom Morris and made SN even better. We are very lucky that Bob has given us the benefit of his experience without having to use stimulus money. Frankly I don't know how he finds the time.
The Jan/Feb issue was great and I particularly enjoyed the Jim Vornholt article. Now the March/April follows with incredible coverage of one of the oldest events that we have in the King Orange. I always download SN to see it all color. how-to articles, details on favorite airplanes, district reports, international reports. SN has everything.
While many criticize Pampa, I applaud Pampa.

That was a nice contest report. The KOI looked like a dandy contest. I have an orange airplane, but I'm in the opposite corner of the country now. Shucks.

Just a hop, skip, and a jump away. See you next year? ;)
