Zuriel's Primary Force-anyone have pics?
« on: January 11, 2012, 08:35:00 PM »
 In the District 8 photo section here on the forum I just came across this photo of a plane said to be Zuriel Armstrong's. Judging by the taper in the wing it appears to be a slighty bashed Mike Pratt "Primary Force" with flaps added.

 I really like Zuriel's adaptation of the fin/rudder profile, does anyone have more pics of this one?

Could it be a "Force"? In a telephoto picture, the perspective is altered; so that l.e. sweep may not have been altered.

Moveable flaps. Needs to be a Force. Is that what it's called? The Primary Force I'm familiar with is non-flapped. Also no tricycle gear.

Hey, I know that guy.

This is not a Force.  I have built two of Mike Pratt's Force design and am currently building another.  Although this design is inspired by Mike's Force, it is only because I like the side profile.  It used ribs from a '92 Cardinal with the two center ribs removed.  I then built the wing over the Force plans.  The fuselage side area was reduced and the tail lengthened by 1".  I think I used a stab and elevator from the plans without modification.  This plane flew really well.  Good enough to win Advanced at the DASH contest in Dallas around 2004 or so.  I think Lee may still have the plane even today.  He is the Dashing Young man shown flying it in the photo.  I may have some more pictures at home if you are interested.

  Hi Zuriel;
   I have a better name for the model. Since all of it's components have been pilfered from other designs, how about "Petty Larceny"??? Nice looking model though and the vertical fin shape does compliment it very nicely.

Howdy Dan,

I am so easily influenced by the people I meet at contests >:D  I was very pleased the plane did what I wanted it to do.  I am doing another version of the Force for Electrics now.  It will actually be a Force with a few tweaks for my personal desires.

OK, How's this. If it's electric something along those lines. I'm not an electronic techy, but isn't the current crop of outrunner motors powered by a delta type of A/C current, there for it would be a Delta Force? Or the Current Force? Shock Force? Amped Up Force?
  OK , I'll quit now. Gotta go do battle with the snow and crazy drivers on the way to work.

I still have Zuriel's Alias, as it was called when I purchased it.  The lead outs caught in the grass on takeoff and it busted the wing and fuselage in half.  Made a new fuse from the trailing edge forward and repaired the wing.  Still fly it, and it flies way better than my capabilities. I will see if I have any pictures of it.  Its to blankity blank cold out today to take any.

I love it Dan.  And Paul Taylor gave me a hard time for calling my ARF Primary Force "PHORCE"
