BASHED CARDINAL
« on: July 26, 2008, 01:01:24 PM »
Tried to keep it simple on purpose. First time with a new 2 part paint system and clear (Klass Kote), first time with a new spray gun. A lot of learning here, started out using the wrong tape. Made a lot of mistakes but it's almost done. Found out I aint no painter. I ain't sanding anymore and I ain't buffing. I'm calling it done. Still have to finish the flaps and elevators......GREG B
P.S. My first time with Klass Kote.....I love the stuff, well actually I just like it. Never had one pull up of prevoius paint layers etc. Strange the first 2 pictures are bright red with my point and shoot camera. the 3rd and 4th pictures show the real color.

Greg,

And what exactly is the problem? The thing looks great! I consider myself a neophyte painter. I'm always bothering Mark Scarborough with questions since he knows paint better than I do. I just keep plugging away and hopefully each plane gets a little better. I can't see a thing wrong with this one.

Thanks everyone. Well I painted it in the garage and the lighting is not the best. It's OK, but I got the orange peel plague on the fuse. Maybe I'll sand it out and re-shoot the clear. I'm not happy with it, my fault. Could of used a little more thinner.

Wasn't there supposed to be a Cardinette to be produced somewhere?

Hi Greg, That's sur a sharp Cardinal! If I could finish like that..I'd build one up myself and be mighty proud! Please let us know how it flies, and what you're powering this beauty with! Tally Ho

Greg...get this one fully sorted and trimmed before you get too sporty with it! I liked the last couple of them you did, too. Remember, do NOT adjust your flying to suit the airplane...adjust the airplane so you don't have to adjust your flying.  S?P Steve

It looks Superb Greg. What engine is going on it? It should fly well at that weight. Nice colors and paint scheme. I LIKE it.
