Finally painted and covered, definitely not a beauty queen. But, then again she's 40+ so it's gonna take more than blush to cover her age, I mean experience!

I like trike gear stunters. I had one about 35 yrs ago that would do touch and goes when I got a rich run. Tail draggers flip when I have tried that. Have you repainted since that picture?

No thats the final color. This airframe was on consignment @LHS. $15 dollars later and it was headed home. It was finished in clear dope and rotten silk, had been hanging in a garage for 35 + years.The builder had passed away, the son brought it to the LHS.
I reglued all the ribs, spars, new cloth hinges, paint so far. I have some Corsair decals( to confuse my club members). I plan on using the OS 40 fp in the picture,the tank is still undecided. I know the finish is subpar, only my second 'cote job, only my 3rd airframe actually. I have trouble flying out a tank, let alone keeping them in the air. Most of my fleet are second hand(Super Clown, Ringmaster, P63). I do have a Twister and a slow combat trainer(my design). All except the P63 are ready for spring.
Maybe this year I'll be able to loop rather than figure 9.

Hey, that P-63 looks better than some of my planes. Had the P-63 when it first came out. Flew with a McCoy .40 redhead and was a great combination. Pullout in last reverse wingover was about 6 foot too low. Yes the tail did shake when sitting on the ground and engine was running, but it was one great flying plane at the time. I just had a brain f*** at the wrong time. H^^

Is that the old Midwest P-63? Built one when I was a kid back in the early seventies. Always one of my favorite profiles

I had a Midwest P-63 around 1972 with the then new Fox .40 Stunt (big case). When I left town I left it hanging in a Hobby Shop. Never did know what happened to it. A great flying model at the time, and my only tricycle gear model to date.

It looks OK from here. I've seen plans by more experienced builders that look worse.
If you really want to get good, get one or two of the books on finishing airplanes and read 'em. If you're a video person ask here for good ones -- I'm a book person, so that's what I stick to.
"There Are No Secrets" by Higley is a good all-around book. Faye Stilley has one on finishing with Monocoat that's a definite keeper: it'll certainly help you with getting wingtips right.

I'll have to look into the books, I love a good read. I'd really like to do silk and dope finishes, but my garage isn't heated so I build in the basement. Neither the wife or I could handle the dope fumes in the house, not to mention all the other hazards.Have thought about the polycrilic finishes,but even with searches here and stuka stunt still not enough info for me.
