Title: P-40B Electric Maiden Flight ViDEO
Post by: Shug Emery on December 09, 2015, 02:57:59 PM
Got the Brodak P-40B electric in the air today for one flight....the maiden flight.
It has an RMS Sport .46 glow equivilant plug and fly system on it. It did the whole pattern with authority though my camera shut down in the overhead 8s. Was just going to test it but it felt so good I went for the pattern.

 Looks good Shug, doesn't sound anything like a P-40 though. VD~ :##

Am I looking at the SW corner of County C and Snelling Avenue?

Well the plane looks great and once you start doing the full pattern will be even greater.    At least with electric you won't be bothering the neighbors.

I did the full pattern but the camera battey died right after overhead 8s.....pulled right through it. It is quiet for sure.

Been patiently waiting for this video.  How does it compare to the Super Clown?  What length lines are you running?  Nice flying.  Thanks for the video.

Nice pattern. But open up those horizontal eights a few more degrees. Hope I never have to fly against you.  LL~ LL~ H^^
Hey....I did not even know I was gonna fly a pattern. Felt so good I went for it on maiden flight!

From the one flight....much superior to Super Clown. I have 60' lines on it. Thankee.

From what I seen there was only 2 inverted laps between the loops and one lap between maneuvers with no lap on over head.  Will have to watch again.   But, isn't it great to have a plane a person is comfortable enough to start doing a pattern.

True....but I was being conservative on in between laps until I know all the battery and settings. And flight times. It was just a healthy maiden flight.

Nice job on the p 40 ,  the more you fly it, the more you will like the kr timer, Eric has a great turnkey package.

Yeah, he was being conservative Doc, he waited all the way until the second lap to start the pattern with a never before flown airplane. ;D

Hi Shug, Looks great!
I cant help but think what Eric has said on more than one occasion.
" Putting a Brodak motor on a R S M kit or visa verse could disrupt the time-space continuum."

Great maiden flight Shug .... your bench prep is outstanding to put up a flight like that on first outing.  Some see it as a pattern failure .... I see it as some mad skills. Exceptionally done!!

Look forward to more of your videos ... :)

I am doing some ink lines on it now. Practice.
Those plug and plays are real good for me right now. Good to hear from you Will. Hello to all the family.

I did see some out of time neanderthals in my side vision whilst flying. That explains it.

Shug, If you ever come to Calif, and join us for a mancave night you won't have to worry about impulse control.

I have seen your spread on on the Man Cave thread. Prime rib and customized pound cake.......I always weep a little at the culinary glory.
No impulse control is my calling card.
I do a wee bit of meat myself from time to time.....https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL27A412931121C97E (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL27A412931121C97E)
We must meet. Or meat.

Shug, you make us look like rank amateurs. I love your smoker, I am in the possess of building a new reverse flow smoker for the mancave.

You can come and cook for/with us anytime.

BTW nothing I like more than less pretentious and more lard. W.W.

I have not. Time and weather have been demons.
