On a scale of 1 to 10. I'd say at least a 20.

Those hangar walls would not stop .50 cal rounds. Did they first check to see if the other side of the hangar was clear?

C'mon, you gotta know that they were blanks. Even so, I don't think that'd be legal, at least in the USA. Otherwise, it would be great for use on feral hogs... ;D Steve

LOVED IT!!!!
The P-40 is my second favorite plane. I got a ride in one a few years back and I must say, it was the greatest 30 minutes of my life,( Well that, and that blonde gal in Fremont).

It looked as if there was little vibration, so I also think they were probably blanks. The walls certainly wouldn't stop it, or even slow it down - at that angle it would go through the wall and then another 4-5 miles, I would guess.

They were blanks. When planes from that time period (most likely even today) had there guns sighted in. The tail of the plane was always elevated so the plane was level.

Amazing what they get up to in NewZealand . After a few beers .

But i hear their beers have a bunch more alcohol content. #^

A couple of years ago they did a ground firing of the six 50's in a P-51D using live ammo. They were shooting at a large square target probably in front of a dirt berm. There's a video on the web somewhere. EDIT- Found one video

I see somebody already posted a much better video!
