If you followed along the build thread and thinking process this is the end result. I will try to test fly it tomorrow and if all goes well I will add a few more details but not much more. It came out a little heavyer than I wanted but should be ok at 58 ounces.

Huh? No ink??? In the finishing post you had also mentioned T-Bolt level detailing and "radiator shading"...? ???

Obviously it still looks great Sparky, and it's your model, but knowing your abilities I was hoping you'd go all out.

The other way around, I believe the Tucker was influenced by the full scale MC72 racer.

I guess we need some close ups then. ;D ;D ;D

...I just looked back too, the original post on this build was October 21st, so you've beaten your 60 day prediction.

You know, one great advantage of electric, in my opinion, is that you could almost fly it in bare minimum dope and filler, just to test it and see how it goes. If things aren't quite what you want, you can make changes before you get to the final finish, and not have any fuel soaking to be concerned with, which can happen in on the first few flights. I think Jack Sheeks wrote in one of his articles that he always test flew his models and made sure they would do the pattern before the final finish was applied. I think he said he always did the full pattern on the first flight, if it wouldn't do it then, it's not worth the effort!! Or something like that! y1  Once you have it test flown successfully and are satisfied, then you can apply the final finish and adjust the ballance as needed. Just a thought.

Absolutely gorgeous Sparky, and very interesting departure from the typical generic stunter.

Incredible that you could build and finish something like that in that short period of time.
It takes me about that long just to frame up a stunter...then about a year or more to finish it...or two...uhhhh or three.  LL~ LL~

Great work.

Gads, Robert,...

You are one of the very few who would refinish a wing in a couple days when it wasn't "just right." I used your building sequence in our club newsletter, with a timeline to show the progress. My half-tail build was right there for contrast. You're also the only one I've known to finish a superior airplane in near record time and almost immediately put it up on e-Bay. The mind spins. Good luck on that extra ten ounces - Ha!

The weight as it sits is 18.5 ounces. I am looking to shed a ounce. I have figured out how to do it. Won't be easy but doable. I need to sand 1 or 2 grams off every piece. Sound easy? It ain't at this stage. It is 1 ounce lighter at this stage than my 55 ounce Viper. I would like to see this at 50 ounces but very difficult to do. I might bang my head against the NETZEBAN wall LOL HB~>

Robert-

I hope you won't mind my stealing your picture for the January NCCL newsletter. It's a good follow-up to last month's. Well, I did finish my horizontal tail in that time. Ha! Really, though, this looks like another beautiful plane. If you wanted to step down from the 20-pt row, you might finish it clear with trim. That should save you some weight - maybe get you near the shadow of that wall.

Well I weighed 2 cans of dope 1 clear and one red. The red was 7 grams heavier than the clear so over a whole plane I don't think there is much to save. Now the evaporation  rates are something I have not measured but I will.

And no I don't mind

Yeah, last weekend was the pits.  Bright sunshine and temps in the 50's F degrees.  But,  almost got blowed off the road  on the way home from Church.   Now back to lightness,  Sparky, can you install helium bags in the wings and fuselage? LL~ LL~   Really, isn't there a limit on how light an object can be with the volume of materials? ???

The main reason for this plane is to incorporate what I have learned. Free gapless control surfaces and better battery and esc placements and hopefully lighter weights.
