Just a quick note to say that our CLPA brother JOE DILL had successful heart bypass surgery in Spokane Wa. today. BW@Recieved the news this morn. from Bob Emmett that Joe was scheduled for heart surgery this morn...and during a phone call this eve. to Bob Parker...(at the exact moment we were talking....Joe Dill's wife Shelia was on the phone with Bob's wife, explaining that Joe was out of surgery and doing as well as expected.
As many of you know....Joe Dill's beautiful CLPA designs have gleaned him many years of successful stunt flying competition awards.

With that in mind....Lets keep our Joe Dill on our thoughts and prayers...and MAY THE GREAT AND GOOD LORD TAKE A LIKIN' TO HIM AND HIS BELOVED FAMILY and hope to see him back out there of that new flying field with his equally addicted GOOD NEIGHBOR...Paul Walker.
WALKER..IF YOU ARE LURKING!!!
LOOKS LIKE U ARE GOING TO HAVE TO KEEP THAT NEW CIRCLE MOWED AND WATERED FOR A WHILE UNTIL JOE IS OUT AND ON THE MEND. AMEN! H^^
(by the way...BOB PARKER'S FLYIN HAND "PAW" is also on the mend....

Donny...Do you know what the surgery was? Stent(s) or bypasses? Valves? Pacemaker? Small block Chevy? Tell Joe to quit goofing off (after a good nap) and get back onto the new stunter.  H^^ Steve

If this was a bypass it knocks the stuffin right out of you for about 2 months and then it takes about 3 years for all the nerves to heal in your chest. It's not fun but joe will live a better life after this little operation. Get well joe and I am sure his smile is still intact. I had my bypass done in 2003. HIHI%% HIHI%% HIHI%% HB~>

Tell that youngster to take care of hisself when he gets out.  If it is just a stent our flagman the other night had a another lad with him on the stand.  After the races I asked if he was retiring.  That is when he told me about the stent the Monday before.  Seems track officials were worried about him.  He said why worry as he mowed 5 acrs of grass and painted on his house after getting.  So I would say it sounds like bypass surgery he will need to take care.  Look forward to pics of him and the rest at the circle when he is able. I'm very glad to hear Joe came through alright. He's a great guy and hopefully his energy level will be well up.

I talked to Sheila last night. The surgery went well, and he had 5 arteries bypassed. He didn't have much time left without the surgery!

He came through well, and is resting now.  Is expected to leave the hospital in 4 days.

Very lucky that Sheila was so insistant on the stress test that revealed the issue!

Maybe he will listen to her more often now. LL~ But, that would not be like us men would it?  With all the pills I am taking now, I can fly what is supposed to be a pattern with out the hip screaming at me.  Now it's the knees but, they have always hurt.  Tell Joe to take care from the old DOC Holliday. H^^

Talked to Joe on the phone last night....Recovery is slowwwww and still is soooo tired and sleep is difficult to say the least.
Breathing is a lot less painful and also getting his voice back. Still has lots of pain from the extensive surgery...DAAA???? as anyone could guess! H^^!!n~

Let's keep our brotha' Joe on our thoughts and prayers list.  He actually sounded like he was in pretty good spirits and glad too hear from friends and peers.

I don't think I have ever met Joe but, there are so many people I haven't met yet.  Tell him to take care.  One friend I still miss is Jerry "The Who" Meyer.  He went thru the open heart surgery stuff.  We were talking at the NATS and I heard him make a gasp and grab for his side.  I asked him if he was okay and he replied,  "Doc until you've been thru it you don't know".   He stated most of the pain was from when they pry open the chest cavity.  Anybody that knew him, knew he was a gentleman and took a lot of teasing.   :'(
