I suspect many are still digging out and haven't had a chance to reply.  Personally, my house stayed dry, but my in-laws got 3' of water.  Amazing the mess that makes and what you find afterwards.  We spent Thursday through Monday getting furniture moved, dry wall and insulation out, flooring up, cabinets/bookshelves out and studs drying. It is an amazing amount of work.  We had a lot of help. Without that much help, we would still be cleaning.  Now on to the next part - dealing with insurance (yes, they have flood insurance), getting a new car, drying and rebuilding.  Fortunately, they have a 2 story house, so most things survived.

It is worse than it looks on the internet or TV...........I am living it.........................I am high and dry, but many, many, are not................quite unbelievable to see. Went to grocery store today............line down half way around the store and mostly bare shelves when you get in. No bread. No lots of things.....................fortunately, we stocked up ahead and are fine. We have electricity, water and internet...................not so good for many...............Son Brad has it all, but no sewer. His aerobic sewer treatment unit went out, meaning no poop or pee indoors...........fortunately, he has two acres of heavily wooded property, with no neighborhood view into the back yard..............He and son Daniel, think that is kinda fun.............not so much for wife/mom Cindy.

Never seen so many boats on the interstate being towed south towards Texarkana and Shreveport.

I am several hundred miles from the Houston area and we just barely got outer band rain here predicted 3 to 5 inches but we only saw 1.25"
My dinky town is fed by 3 major Texas highways and we were/are out of gasoline but some one is doing ok with the re-supply as the shortages each were only for 2 days
35 miles away in Belton the convention center is filling with displaced folks. We are close to Fort Hood so we have military down at the gulf and here locally assisting FEMA and Red Cross
Last time we had this much influx for help was Katreina 2005 when we got thousands to help from Louisiana
Lampasas, our county and town, has 35 folks (ambulance, sherrifs water rescue, and fire fighters) dispatched to the disaster area
Got the word this morning to please stop donating clothing...water, food, and cash is more needed--- and there is no space to store or volunteers to sort the clothing

A POX on all the heartless A holes, who always run around our area, buy up fuel, water, generators, ply wood and head down to make big profits...shameful

I have heard that there is six feet of water over our flying field and other reports that it is closer to 12 feet. Our flying field is located in a flood detention reservoir that keeps downtown Houston from flooding. May take months to drain and be usable for us. Looks like we will have to cancel the Roundup and/or reschedule. The stunt FAI Team Trials, scheduled one week after the Roundup, at the same site, has been canceled and The CD hopes to find another site in another city.

We're a long way away, but having hopeful thoughts for those affected by Harvey and Irma. I just today contacted one of our NW Skyraiders, Addis Elmore, who is from Texas but winters in St. Thomas. He has been here in WA for months, but we haven't seen hide nor hair of him. Also concerned about Pete Ferguson, who moved to FL...somewhere around Daytona...maybe Mike Ferguson will know and post?  D>K Steve
