Geeezzzzzzz...... Jim, ask an easy question once, ok?

LL~ LL~

Had to be mid-late '50s. (real early '60s wouldn't surprise me!)  After the OTS cut off, but well with in the Classic Era.  Johnnie Cashburn Models of course.

Ty has a bazillion and two model mags.  He is very good at catching the first "Ad" for a model.

Uh, I believe it was Consolidated Models, not Johnny Casburn, I agree it was late 50's/maybe early 60's.  Anybody know when Consolidated went out of buisness - I think it was around then too.  I built one in 1964 or so, but never flew it!   Wish it was OTS-2 legal I'd build another (Brodak) in a heartbeat.  Might anyway...

I also agree Ty can find it!

I think you are correct, Brother Denny.  I seem to have gotten my "C's" mixed. up. :o :-[ ( a fellow was asking about a "Johnnie Cashburn Miss Behave", guess I had it on my brain!)  My bad....  The Consolidated box picture/ads had striated dark "diamonds" on the wing.

Aaron's first "built up fuselage" was  Fancy Pants.  Did well for him!

No matter what year it was introduced it is still one rather homely model.

Dennis,

Remember......."beauty is in the eye of the beholder".  Some have claimed the S-1 Ringmaster to be supremely ugly.......  biggest eyesore on the planet.  I, from my first sight of a Ringmaster, thought it was the most beautiful design among the profiles of the day and even those of today.  Actually, I don't think the Fancy Pants is so homely........but I do confess that I have a Brodak Fancy Pants kit on the shelf waiting to be built.......TD    LL~    H^^

I too have always thought the Ringmaster was one pretty profile airplane.  Especially if the landing gear was left off.  The Super Ringmaster was the next one I built and flew, but I got carried away with the finish.   H^^

You won't believe how many magazines I have looked through for any type ad from Consolidated.  I don't think they had a big budget for ads. However, the latest I have found, so far, is in the January 1959 Flying Models, page 43 a 1/4 page ad with the following models listed. Spirit (RC);  Hell Razor 1/2A through class C; Jubilee (profile stunter); Wow and Wowee; Grumman TBF Avenger; Mew Gull; Bandit; Manx Cat; three Stuka models=1/2A, stuka and giant Stuka. No Fancy pants-yet.  H^^

More later after the pain goes away. Arthritis sucks .

Hi Ty,

I "think" I saw the Fancy Pants in an AHC ad in an American Modeler recently.  It was early '60s, IIRC.
