The Toronto Balsa Beavers have had a surge of beginners
during 2013/14 and during the summer, all progressed to the
confident loop stage. It was decided to hold a "Limited Stunt"
event which judged take off. level flight, 3 loops (that didn't
need to be consecutive), optional maneuver and landing.
The video starts with Raquel completing a very credible but unintended
vertical eight! That's why you hear cheering from the spectators.
The other loud engine noises are coming from the combat
guys over at the west circle.
Jack Nagao is an experienced scale competitor but he dabbles
in stunt occasionally. He's flying a full bodied version of an
English Pacemaker with a FP.20 (B.B./Dirt set up)
Paul Emmerson came second with his electric Clown.
Smooth and quiet.
The event was won by Chris Hubbard (ARF Flight Streak).
You can clearly see why with his clean loop recovery and
slick landing.
Many of you know Naomi Macklem from 1/2A scale at Brodaks.
She was a good sport and filled out the field with a credible
flight.
Many thanks to our brilliant Web Master Doug Blackmore
for opening the Balsa Beaver's Channel over at Youtube.
