Hi Mike
There is a "better" plan and the article regarding the model on the outerzone site.
Here is a link to the article:-

If you question  if it can loop, here is proof .  , David smith flying  a very old one on throttle .

I wouldn't advise the loop, Allan. Looked a bit treacherous.

I have talked with Dick Mathis and gotten some more information I needed and also Eric Rule about getting it into a CAD format so a kit can be cut.  If there is sufficient commitment from enough folks to make it economically feasible to proceed, I will.  Right now there is not.  I am with ALLAN, I think this thing would be a blast.  You do not necessarily have to run throttle control either, that is an option.

Yes, but that's part of what makes it fun, pushing it to the limits.  I am planning on some performance "enhancements".  Also on Jim Lee's recommendation, will go to the field with spare rotor assy's.

Interesting, every time you put out a new kit you claim it is the last  one you will produce.”

Well Mr Bob, I kinda appreciate Mike and others like him trying to breathe new life and interest into our hobby, especially since we are not getting good press with our friends with drones.

Thank you Myron.  I have said a couple of times I was going to retire and I guess I will some day but things just keep popping up that are just too much fun to ignore.  I have to thank ALLAN Perret for getting me interested in the Otto the Giro project.  Even though I had kitted some of Dick Mathis's designs in the past, I was not aware of this one until ALLAN brought it go my attention.  I think it will be fun...

The .pdf file for the construction article at outerzone is missing a page.  It has page 17 & 19.    Anybody have a lead on page 18 ?

Allen,

David uses a old enya. Baffle motor, it is a 29 or 35, the model was built by David's father, nothing but fun, David has a newer bigger model in the works , at the end of the flight , if you watch him close , you can see  his model shear a blade ,and he was able to about ,   just a little too much stress

I re-designed the rotor hub for Mike's kits because it looked to be both weak and hard to make accurate.  My hub has more than twice the gluing surface vs the original.  I made a jig to cut them on a table saw.

I think they did it off the Langley.
Model Builder had an article on autogyros that mentioned it.

HI Andrew

Although I no longer produce kits anymore, most of the kits I did over the past years are still available on special request except for the Otto the Giro kit.  It was only available for limited amount of time due to the custom machining that had to be done to make the rotor hub which I had to outsource.  Unfortunately it is not economically feasible to set up production for one hub.  This was the only kit I did that was a one time run.
