OT: Vintage Tether Cars

    Are there any enthusiasts out there that are pretty knowledgeable on vintage tether cars and parts? I have a small, simple collection of mainly Cox and O&R stuff, but have been going through my stuff to try and get things thinned out and organized and came across some parts for the more elaborate, bigger cars I think.  If there is anyone out there that can help me identify what I got a put a value on it, I would like to get them to a party that can use them. Drop me a line or if you know someone not on the forum, send me their contact information and I can send pictures and such. It's not much, just a couple of boxes of some rear end parts for the most part, I think.

Jay took over and kept alive until the plague, the MECA Swap & Collecto in the City of Industry Calif when George what’s-his-name retired to Tennessee.  Jay is a nice guy and he’s into tether cars.  I sometimes see him at the tether track at Whittier Narrows but I cannot acknowledge his presence there because he’s one of “them” Lol.

Some of those old tether cars, engines and accessories are worth quite a lot.  Good luck with the divestiture.

   My parents bought me a 1964 Cox Buick Riviera in 1964 paid probably $ 14.00 , couple years ago I saw one on the Bay for 400 American bucks.
    Saw a car from the 50s made in France for I think   $2,000.00

If you're interested send me PM, I can get you in touch with Jim McCarty. He's does quite a bit of restoring and has lots of parts. He even makes replacement parts for some of the old cars. I'd be surprised if he couldn't identify everything you have.

   I sat down today and really went through the stuff, had not done that before as long as I have had it!! It's some upgrade rear end parts for Thimble Drome front and rear wheel drive cars, and a casting kit to install an Arden .099 and new rear drive in one. Frank Imbriaco chimed in with some help also, and I still need to contact the gentleman that Paul put me on to. If you have Jim McCarty's contact info you could PM it to me and I can get him in the loop also. Just gotta decide if I want to fool with eBay or just set a price and see what happens.
