Car was supposedly brand new but I'm not really sure.
Cost around $450,000.00.

I have driven this road four times. First time in Family sedan. Two times in my Mustang convertible and one time on my Cannondale bike.
The problem with this road is it is smooth asphalt so people think it is safe to go to fast. Most of the time it is full of motorcycles.
It is not a scary road I have been on much worse in Utah but they were dirt so people drive slower.
It is about a half day ride from my house . I have done it out and back in one day.
There are quite a few roads I think are a lot harder to drive here in NC but are not well known.
There is one near Little Switzerland that will make you hair stand on end.

I did the "tail" about a year ago.
The road is slick and some corners require just about a full stop.
Day the wife went, generally traffic, kept you from enjoying the road at a safe reasonable pace.
So, you would go slower than the car ahead, then you had room for a fake "pedal to the metal."
But not really.
Rice Rockets whiz right by you and make you want one, at least for the day.
We counted 6 vendor set up to take photos of the fast paced cars. I didn't see any.
Best part of the event was the Gift Shop, run by a man and his cutie wife. Interesting couple.
Wife and I won't go back.
BTW. I was given a single "courtesy lap" at Limerock CT. Even alone on that track, I'll never forget it.

Robbinsville (southern end of the Dragon) is about a mid-point from me, friends from Cleveland area and NJ.
A group 10-12 of us would meet on the motorbikes and enjoy the area.
A nice ride to Wheels through time in Maggie Valley TN
We usually rode over to the Barber Museum in Alabama.
Route 129 (the "Dragon") is very well maintained and quite busy in season....but a lot of fun to ride! One of my most interesting rides was from the north, at night and in the rain. A whole new perspective.

Don't know much about the Dragon but years back I recall vividly on our honeymoon driving out of Dingle Bay, Ireland on Conor Pass. It was a single lane along the cliffs and much of it did not have stone fences to keep you from going over. If you met another car someone had to back up. It was my first experience driving with the wheel on the right. We made it...were still married today with no flip overs!!!
