Title: OT: Bob's latest photo project
Post by: Bob Reeves on December 16, 2014, 05:15:23 AM
Just have to tell my friends as I get excited when I do something that actually works. This is a system I developed for a McDonald's restaurant in Australia. It uses a Canon DSLR camera to shoot photos of kiddies coming down a tub slide located in the Play Land area and displays them on a 50 inch TV for the parents to goggle over. It is triggered by an opto sensor in the tub slide and rotates the last 4 photos on the display.

We are still tweaking the display size and shortly it will fill the TV screen but that is minor in retrospect as right now I'm just excited it is installed and working. A few photos the customer sent me.

Thanks for the kind words guys..

I just realized this McDonald's is in Perth Australia where the FAI world champions will be held in 2016. It really is a small world and maybe this thread isn't as off topic as I originally thought.

Well Bob;   You never cease to amaze me. You are a man of many talents. Who would have thought of even doing such a thing. It must come from your former life as a radio tech where you have to learn that the impossible things only take a little longer to do.
