Title: OS 50 something
Post by: Paul Taylor on August 24, 2009, 07:14:17 PM
I really like the OS LA 46, and I do not ever see me paying the big bucks for a 40 RE with pipe yadda yadda wiz bang engine.

Is there a OS 50 size engine or 50 size engine that will work right out of the box that will not kill Ben Franklin and a few of his friends?

no - put simply.

for bigger - go with the super tigre 51 - just as easy to use as the OS and they go well.

OS did do an LA65 but its weight was ridiculous.

Have you thought about a four stroke? Saito 56's can be had pretty reasonable used, even new they aren't near as hard on the wallet as a full blown pipe set up. Doesn't take allot to get them running well, properly set up in the right airframe a Saito 56 can take you to the Walker Cup.

OS 52 FS. The OS 52 four stroke is a sweet running motor
with plenty of power.

I really love my box stock ST .51.  Starts easy, very frugal with fuel and is extremly dependable.  I have the Chinese version with a aftermarket Mac's muffler.  I run 10% with a 11x5 prop, I am just a sport flyer but I really love the combo.
